Clear about what's stored. And what isn't.
Before a team uses AI, you want to know where the data goes. With kayetana, the answer is short: to a server in your own building. Prompts and responses are not stored.

What kayetana stores.
| Data | Stored |
|---|---|
| Prompts | – |
| Responses | – |
| Time and endpoint | ✓ |
| Model and status | ✓ |
| Tokens and duration | ✓ |
| Uploaded datasets | per your retention period |
kayetana deletes the usage log and datasets automatically after the retention period you set. You can also clear the log manually.
Retention periods you control.
On the data protection page, you set a retention period for the usage log and for datasets: indefinitely, 7, 30, 90 or 365 days. After that, kayetana deletes them automatically.
- Separate periods for logs and datasets
- Automatic deletion
- Clear the log at any time

Frequently asked questions
Are prompts cached anywhere?
Prompts and responses are only passed through and never stored. Time, endpoint, model, status, tokens and duration are logged.
Does data go to a model vendor?
No. Models run through Ollama on your own server. Once the models are loaded, it runs without internet access.
What happens to uploaded documents?
Datasets stay on the server and are deleted automatically after the retention period you set. Documents used for answers with sources are processed with the request.
Is kayetana GDPR-certified?
No. kayetana supports you because data doesn't leave the building. It's not a certification, guarantee or legal advice.
